File Format Research:
JPEG:
In computing jpeg is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography (image). This is the right format for those photo images which must be very small files, for example, for web sites or for email. JPEG is often used on digital camera memory cards
BMP:
The BMP file format, sometimes called bitmap is an image file format used to store bitmap digital images especially on Microsoft Windows.. In uncompressed BMP files, and many other bitmap file formats, image pixels are stored with a color depth of 1, 4, 8, 16, 24, or 32 bits per pixel (BPP).
PSD:
Image file created by Adobe Photoshop, a professional image-editing program.. Photoshop has ties with other Adobe software for media editing, animation, and authoring. The PSD (Photoshop Document), Photoshop's native format, stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop.

Newspaper Front Cover
For this task we had to design a newspaper front cover. But to fill up this front cover I had to write an article of my own about the 'animal face' project we did a few weeks ago. It had to be around 200 words so it was a decent size article. Then I just added banners and other articles from different newspapers by using google images and add them to this front cover so it looked realistic. We done this project in Adobe InDesign.
We had to fiddle about with our layout
design and keep changing and adjusting it until we were happy with it. These our some advertisments i took from the daily mail newspaper abd used on my design to give a realistic look.

I have two articles on the front cover wich I had to keep changing around and adjusting text size so that everything would all fit in together
In this screen print I have organised my layout and text. All I needed to do was add the banners and it was complete!
This was, my final design to the newspaper front cover. The text was all in columns and advertisments set out in an organised way.. But the only problem, is that the two stories looked as if they were one.
So I made the story headings bigger and seperated out the stories so it became a lot clearer!
Here is my new final newspaper design. As I said I moved the text around and made the titles a lot bigger so they stand out and grab people attention. Also the titles seperate the two stories up.

Buster Keaton
The Buster Keaton task:
We had to use InDesign to produce a newspaper page about a man called Buster Keaton.
I took some screen prints to show how i done some of the tasks and what tools on InDesign i used.
This screem print shows how i was adjusting the stroke on the image. I done this so any changes i made wouldn't obscure the image.
This screen print is showing the symbol which is teeling me i have text flowing over another part of the page. I had to click on this symbol and then click on the frame i wanted the text to go in to bring it out. This is called hidden text.
After bringing out the hidden text and placing it in another frame of Buster Keaton, it looked like this. I had to format the text to make it a suitable size and font to fit the frame.
This is my finished newspaper page, with everything complete.

Digital Graphics - Animal faces
What I did - To start with I had to find a high resolution picture on google. This was of an animal of my choice. Then i had to take a picture of my friend and upload it onto the computer. I used both of these photos in my 'animal face' image. For my final picture i combined botht the images to make a half human and half animal face.
How I did it - I did this by using photoshop, and many of the tools on the program. I had to use tools on photoshop (like the lasso tool) to take out feautures of my friends face, like eys, the motuh, the nose etc. And then put them onto the picture of the animal I had chosen. I used the eraser tool to rub out and blend in the features of the human to the face of the animal.
What i thought of my results - I thought the results of my image was pretty good. The eyes blended in well with the face of the moneky because its dark and was easy to merge. So when you look closely you can't really tell its been photoshoped in. The mouth was a little harder because the colour of the moth and lips are much lighter than the rest of the original face, so i had to try and make it blend in as well as possible.
